It all began in 1928 with a passion for a very special medicinal plant and a great deal of commitment. More than 90 years later, Speick natural cosmetics stands for gentle, natural body care. Our products are still the only ones in the world to offer the unique effect created by the incomparable extract of the high alpine Speick plant.

Our company founder Walter Rau was compelled to harness the benefits of the ancient Speick medicinal plant for human use. This motivation is still the common thread that runs through everything we do and is our driving force every day.

Today, we are able to look back on an established history that has seen us develop from an anthroposophically-oriented soap manufacturer into a modern natural cosmetics company. Our single company location in the region of Stuttgart has been an integral part of achieving our high level of quality from the very beginning.

The Speick medicinal plant

Speick products are the only products in the world that contain the unique Speick extract, which has been certified as being from biologically regulated wild harvesting since 2003. Speick has been prized for centuries for its harmonising effect. This small, inconspicuous plant is protected and cultivated as part of a conservation project in the Carinthian Alps (Nock Mountains Biosphere Reserve). It is harvested by hand exclusively for our Speick products.

Our products

It all started with Speick soap and today, Speick natural cosmetics include the ranges Speick Natural, Speick Natural Active, Speick Men, Speick Men Active, Speick Thermal Sensitiv, Speick Organic 3.0, Speick PURE and Speick SUN. All products bearing the Speick name contain Speick plant extract, making each item unique. Our Made by Speick selection also offers a wide range of exquisite, special skin care products, with some seasonally featured items.

In the focus at Vivaness 2020:

Our COSMOS Natural-certified, vegan and dermatologically and allergologically tested product range Speick Organic 3.0 is integrally sustainable. Product and packaging made from renewable raw materials. 100% palm oil-free, with energised water. This product range has already been prized internationally and various times. At Vivaness 2020 Speick Organic 3.0 will be expanded to include a palm oil-free soap bar.

Speick SUN is the sun care series with 100% natural mineral light protection filter presented for the first time at Vivaness in 2019. At Vivaness 2020, the latest extension, a sun milk with SPF 30 in a family-friendly 150ml tube, will be presented.

Also premiered at Vivaness 2019 was the Speick PURE Deo Stick, which will be supplemented by two further products from the Speick PURE series at Vivaness 2020: Shower gel and shampoo from Speick PURE are free of perfume and alcohol and are particularly suitable for sensitive skin.

The series Made by Speick will be presented at Vivaness 2020 with seven new products: The four varieties of the unpackaged Bionatur Hair + Body Soap Bar offer resource- and environmentally friendly cleaning for body and hair. The White Soap, Green Soap and Red Soap complement the Black Soap in the face and body soap range presented at Vivaness 2019. With additives such as Rügen healing chalk, Moroccan lava clay and red clay, they offer intensive and gentle deep cleansing for every skin type.
