All organic eggs supplied by DAVA Foods are guaranteed to have come from hens that have been reared organically. They get organic feed the whole rearing period and Danish organic pullets have have access to an attractive hen yard from when they are six or nine weeks old (depending on the season).
When the hens grow up and become egg-layers, the hens must have access to both barn and outdoor areas throughout the year. The outdoor areas must provide shelter, shade and vegetation. In an organic flock of hens must be a maximum of 3.000 hens and maximum of 6 hens per m2 is allowed in the barn.
To ensure animal welfare in organic flocks, we conduct on-site screening visits. With the help of such screening, supplemented by specific action plans in case of any problems, egg producers can take definite steps to promote the welfare of their flocks.

Whilst EU Standards require a test every 15 weeks, Danish Standards require a test to be performed every second week. DAVA Foods’ producers are subjected to salmonella testing and control every single week – guaranteeing our customers a safer choice. We ensure complete traceability and transparency from farm to table. All eggs from DAVA Foods Denmark A/S are stamped with the following code: 0=Organic, DK=Denmark, 12345=Farm number.
