Our DEMETER linseed oil is obtained according to a milling procedure constantly optimised over 15 years at our premises nearby the Swiss town of Uster, Aathal Valley, Zurich Canton – where it is cold-pressed in small batches and bottled with great care – this protects our linseed oil against the harmful effects of oxygen and light, and avoids contact with synthetic materials. Thanks to a special cooling technique, the outflow temperature does not exceed 32° Celsius. The gold coloured edible oil derived from the plant Linum Usitatissimum and developing a sweet scent during milling comes in extra-virgin, unfiltered and untreated quality. The violet glass provides an ideal shield against light and oxidation due to environmental impact. Our linseed oil boasts an average of 52-55% Omega-3 fatty acids – of purely vegetable origin. The 100 ml portions as well as the box with four small bottles are particularly handy: in case of oxidation of one portion due to special circumstances, the rest is still fresh and protected. For those using plenty of linseed oil, larger units are equally available.
In compliance with our framework agreement, our biodynamic linseeds are grown by our cooperation partner, the “peace-promoting” Sekem Project in Egypt.
As a measure against food waste, the press cake is further transformed into linseed flour.
