Coconut water is contained in the cavity of the green, unripe coconut. One nut yields between 0.5 l and 1 l of coconut water. The riper the fruit, the less coconut water it contains. The yellow-coloured King Coconut (also called "Thambili" in Sri Lanka) is grown specifically as drink coconut. It contains less pulp, and more water.
