70% of the world's cocoa comes from Africa, only 1% of the chocolate is produced there.Fairafric, finest chocolate from tree to bar Made in Africa, is part of this one percent.Since 2016, we have Together been producing chocolate in the cocoa country Ghana together with local partners. Shifting the entire value chain to the cocoa-growing country increases the local income per tonne of cocoa by factor five. That's why instead of just paying the price for raw cocoa, fairafric also supports the development of local economic structures and creates middle-income jobs outside of the agricultural sectorWe are thus creating a sustainable way out of poverty for many people. And are producing, "by the way", delicious chocolate in six different varieties, four of them vegan.
For our work we have received the "Next Organic Start-Up Award" in 2017 and the Sustainainability Award of "Neumarkter Lammsbräu" in 2019.
