The story of Manu's RAW KombuCha can be traced back to the childhood of our founder: Manu Kumar. His father, a doctor from India, and his mother, a botanical enthusiast from the former East Prussia, brew and drank their homemade KombuCha daily for a successful start into the day.
Preparing KombuCha for family and friends at home, was a piece of cake for Manu. But to scale the entire process and produce a truly authentic, flavourful and refreshing KombuCha was quite an effort – without concentrates, neither filtering nor pasteurizing, using only fresh ingredients and sticking to the traditional “21 Days Fermentation Rule”. By 2013, it was done… and the ManuTeeFaktur was founded. Since then, it has been a very adventurous and enriching experience: from a small backyard-tea-kitchen to the now well-established Berliner tea company.
What definitely did not change: the RAW KombuCha is alive and still matures for weeks - just like in the old days. Only genuine and best ingredients are used in all products – always 100% organic, vegan, coming from sustainable local cultivation … and all this, without additives. And Manu is happy about this: "Naturally natural", a commitment made in the present and at the same time, a promise for the future.
