About Qualitätsgemeinschaft Bio-Mineralwasser e.V.
Qualitätsgemeinschaft Bio-Mineralwasser e.V. has been committed to the careful use of our most important basis of life, water, since 2008. It monitors the guidelines for the "organic mineral water" quality seal and raises industry and consumer awareness about the problem of increasing water pollution. Members of this quality alliance include the organic farming associations Bioland, Demeter, Naturland and Biokreis as well as the Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren. To obtain the quality alliance’s organic mineral water quality seal, mineral wells have to meet more than 45 strict criteria that guarantee consumers the highest levels of quality, transparency and sustainable production practices. The guidelines were developed by independent experts and are constantly adapted to new scientific findings. The BCS ÖkoGarantie GmbH organic inspection body monitors compliance. “BioKristall” from the organic pioneer Neumarkter Lammsbräu was already certified as the nation's first organic mineral water in 2009, followed by Voelkel in Lower Saxony (BioZisch lemonade), Ensinger in Baden-Württemberg (Ensinger Gourmet) and Lammsbräu (now lemonade) PreussenQuelle Rheinsberg from Brandenburg, Johann Spielmann GmbH (Landpark Bio-Quelle) from North Rhine-Westphalia, Bad Dürrheimer from Baden-Württemberg, Labertaler Heil- und Mineralquellen from Bavaria (Stephanie Gourmet) and Mineralquellen Wüllner from North Rhine-Westphalia (Carolinen).
