Pipin Pear is an award winning range and was founded by Waterford Restaurateur, Irene Queally. Being a busy Mother of two, Irene saw a demand for a convenient baby food range that was just like home-made; nutritious, tasty and filled with vibrant flavours and textures with no added salt, sugar or additives. In 2014, Irene introduced Pipin Pear to the menu of her restaurant No.9 Barronstrand St and the reaction from parents and babies was fantastic with parents travelling from all over the south east to stock up. Pipin Pear was then entered into the 2014 Blas na hEireann National Irish Food Awards where the range won Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Pipin Pear is a chilled range and is merchandised in the dairy fridge and so are very different to the long shelf life jars and pouches currently available in the ambient baby food aisle.
In May 2015, Pipin Pear hit the shelves of 75 SuperValu stores around Ireland followed by Aldi stores nationwide. In 2016, Pipin Pear created a range of chilled baby food under the own brand label, Mamia, for Aldi Ireland. In 2018, Pipin Pear launched into Tesco stores nationwide. In Q3 of 2019, Pipin Pear launched into Dunnes Stores nationwide. In September 2019, Pipin Pear relaunched their entire range with a now fully organic range in new consumer friendly packaging. The new recipes were entered into the 2019 Blas nah Eireann
awards, sweeping the boards yet again, winning Gold, Silver and Bronze. In October 2019, Pipin Pear expanded further and launched into the European market, with our first listing in Belgium for the supermarket Colruyt, with much more on the cards for 2019 and Q1 of 2020.
