The Asociación de Productores Orgánicos para el Desarrollo Integral del Polochic (better known as "APODIP") is a grassroots association in Guatemala, made up of 2,500 families from 35 communities in three municipalities, which since 2008 began to implement projects linked to local economic development, strengthening the families of the communities in their small-scale businesses, organizational strengthening on issues of food security, social inclusion and gender. As a community-based association, APODIP always seeks to strengthen business thinking in peasant families and thus respond to market demands.

APODIP represents 164 smallholder farmers from 16 communities located in the area around the River Polochic and in the Sierra de las Minas Biosphere Reserve in Guatemala, who have been cultivating and traditionally processing organic and fair-trade coffee. The coffee is grown at an altitude of over 1,000 metres for many years on currently around 90 hectares. The highest quality standards are maintained for the production processes of this coffee in order to provide the consumer with a quality product.

The coffee from the Polochic Area has sweet, slightly fruity and fragrant aromas, which are created by natural drying in the sun.

Genetic diversity: Bourbon, Catuaí, Caturra, Catimor, Sarchimor
Drying method: sun-dried
annual yield: 68 tons

A professional cup tasting takes place every day at 11 a.m. at our exhibition stand!
