Ingenio La Esperanza : Sower of Hope since 1883
Ingenio La Esperanza was born in 1883, in the heart of the sugar cane region in Northwest Argentina.
After 15 years of constant growth and technical improvements, the mill attracted British investors and gave birth to Leach Hermanos, a sugar reference across the continent.
Over the 20th century, La Esperanza, Argentinian again, benefited from the sugar industry politics to develop techniques and skills and started to pave the way for quality.
• From the fields...
We believe that healthy soils are the basis for healthy food production. That's why we've always encouraged and improved natural farming practices, using green fertilizers, producing our compost and maintaining natural vegetation and set-aside fields to preserve the fertility of our soils.
Once grown, our sugar canes are harvested green, i.e. not burnt, and carried not further than 30km away to our own plant.
• ... To the mill
Sugar canes are squeezed within the following 24hours to obtain a fresh cane juice, rich in vitamins and minerals. The process of evaporation and crystallization is then carried out without any chemical additives and all the laboratory tests are made to guarantee the best quality of our sugar.
Since 2012, our efforts and dedication were recognized by the international organic standards as we obtained the OIA and USDA certifications on 7.720 ha.
Leach is very proud to provide you with a certified organic cane sugar, naturally gluten free, respectful of the environment as well as human health.
Part of a big family
In 2019, Ingenio La Esperanza was integrated into Budeguer Group, the 2nd largest sugar producer in Argentina.
