A hard cheese featuring a typical granular structure. This cheese holds the world record for having the longest maturing time in the world (up to more than 2 years). Produced in most of northern Italy, the production of Grana cheese dates back to about the year 1100. Both cheeses are protected by their respective associations and are of Recognised Origin (DOR) pursuant to a Presidential Decree dating back to 1955.
