Biolab was founded in 1991 with the aim of promoting the use of vegetal products originating from controlled and certified organic farms. Founder Massimo Santinelli has had a strong personal interest in the concept of organic and macrobiotic food for many years prior to the entrepreneurial evolution brought about by his company.
Following milestones are:
1993 Biolab begins its collaboration with Ecor, the most important Italian distributor of organic products in specialised market.
1996 Beginning of sales in the mass retail channels in Italy.
2003 Biolab moves to a new facility located in via del Montesanto in Gorizia: in 2011 this street becomes via dei Vegetariani.
2010 Biolab promotes the Vegetarian Festival (www.festivalvegetariano.it) in Gorizia. The main purpose of the Festival is to promote a way of life based on the respect and the protection of the rights of all living creatures, on a sustainable and ethical development. Meeting and discussing with cultural experts can positively contribute to raise people's awareness and – at a later stage – to cause a radical change in their way of life.
2013 Biolab begins export sales to European countries.
2014 The expansion to a second manufacturing facility allows Biolab to support a major production of pieces per year.

Biolab products are all strictly organic and certified with the EU organic farming logo, the Icea certification logo (Italian Environmental and Ethical Certification Institute) for vegan and vegetarian products, the AB logo (Agriculture Biologique) of the French Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, Rural Affairs and Spatial Planning, the Vegan Society logo, the BRC and IFS certifications.
