Cheap from the outside – but consequentially expensive: What our food really costs
Since 2007 Soil & More Impacts, before January 2018 named Soil & More International, stands for pragmatic, science-based sustainability solutions in agricultural and food production.
We develop sustainable strategies for the agricultural, food and finance sector. Based on our 4M approach- manage, measure, monetize and marketing - we support our clients in creating a true net value, considering externalities that have an impact on soil, water, climate, education and health.
After the change of name we now additionally address the incentives the finance sector has on the agricultural and food system.
Currently, companies are monetarily rewarded by producing as cheap as possible, while there are costs that are externally generated to the environment and society which are not accounted for by the respective companies.
Our mission as Soil & More Impacts is to transparently demonstrate the true costs that are generated in the agricultural and food production.
To put this strategy into action we created a holistic service approach. Please find individual details in the products section.
Our services include:
1. Continuous support to our clients, while integrating our network
2. Context and hotspot analyses with relevant stakeholders
3. Development of a sustainability strategy, which will be supported by the company’s stakeholders
4. Capacity building of client and the supply chain
5. Systematic implementation of the strategy into the raw material procurement and into the finance management
6. Monitoring and evaluating external impacts produced in the value chain (True Cost Accounting)
7. Reporting, on request
Our team of seasoned changemakers is active worldwide and speaks six languages.
We believe that in order to achieve true changes in politics and society, we need to calculate the true costs of food and make them visible. Therefore, we cordially invite you to attend our presentation:
