Cortijo de Suerte Alta is a family olive grove and mill, located in Albendín (Baena), province of Cordoba, Spain, owned by Manuel Heredia Halcón, Marqués de Prado. The estate comprises an area of 250 hectares of irrigated
olive grove, mainly traditional olives that are between 10 and 90 years old. In 1996 Organic Farming was undertaken. Simultaneously a buried drip-fed irrigation system was introduced to maximize poor water resources. In 2006 a mill was planned and built next to the family house, in the heart of the estate, in order to grind exclusively Suerte Alta’s olives. The estate farm work is entirely carried on by Suerte Alta’s team and machinery to ensure perfect farm work, essential to obtain high quality olives. The harvest begins on the last week of October and the olives, picked directly from the trees, are cold extracted to obtain the oil.
