OrMa BIO Srl was founded in the second half of 2013 by professional agronomists, working for decades in fresh produce sector and particularly experienced in the start–up and management of organic and biodynamic farms. OrMa BIO company is composed by two senior members, actively engaged in managing approximately 120 hectares of land of which 60 hectares are currently organically cultivated.OrMa BIO project consists in developing a close relationship with Apulian farmers, assisting them to better use their organic and biodynamic techniques and soil management resource. OrMa BIO follows up farmers selected to work with, their sowing, cultivation, harvesting and packing in packhouses conforming to European standard of hygiene and quality control. Throughout production chain, from farm to clients, OrMa BIO supervises also documentation through all stages from cultivation til finished product: every step is managed in order to make supply chain as short as possible.OrMa BIO mission is to seek out the excellence of Apulian organic and biodynamic companies, considering the natural variability of fresh products, knowing how human cultivation can impact, evaluating territory own features, identifying environmentally sustainable practices, in order to obtain products safe for human health, both for our workers and for our products consumers. We are also committed with introducing to the market a range of local products, only cultivated in Apulia, often unknown out of the region, for consumers that enjoy experiencing new flavours. OrMa BIO people is keen on natural and ethical food economy, which follows natural cycles, fruit and vegetables cultivation and harvesting that respects each variety: in fact, we are convinced that when cultivation follows proper seasonality and rhythms of nature, the content of vitamins, minerals and other healthy elements of fruit and vegetables increases. Our group, with experience and knowledge of Apulian organic and biodynamic agriculture, can provide assurance that the selected farmers fully satisfy the principles of natural production and are officially recognized by Organic Certification Bodies.
