Our winery produces 16 different wines on 9 hectare. Our vineyards are located at the vineyard site “Volkacher Ratsherr”. The vines grow on shell-limestone grounds, which give our wines their mineral and distinctive taste. We cultivate our vines according to ecological principles and appreciate that the soil, plants, animals and environment are part of a complex system, which has to be supported to work in the best way possible. We became a member in the organic faming association „biokreis e.V.“ at the start of 2015.
Hermann Dumbsky, cellarmaster and wine-grower, matures his wines as pure crus. The wines are bottled with their natural residual sweetness – in our vinery typically bone-dry. Thus, we retain digestible wines with distinct characters. We put a high priority on natural cultivation and the preservation of the typical taste of every single grape variety. Time to mature, quality and continuity are important components in our wine-production-process.
We produce about 35.000 liters wine per year. In addition, we manufacture vegan, naturally cloudy grape juice and vegan, naturally cloudy aronia (chokeberry) juice unter the brand name „ PUR! 100% Direktsaft“ (PUR! 100% direct juice).
