Our Oil Mill

Our products are still handcrafted: Our oils are produced in small spindle presses. A lot of work is done by hand – filtration, bottling, labelling and posting – we are simply a real oil mill. This is why it is impossible to produce more than eight hundred litres of oil per day. That does not matter though because our motto is “quality not quantity”. Fresh from the mill
For us that means: We do not only ensure that our raw materials are as freshly harvested as possible but also that the
oil itself arrives at the customer as fresh as possible. We produce cold pressed oils, which are left as naturally as possible.
They are simply not industrial products which can be stored for years. They are fresh foodstuff s which taste best when they are fresh. This is why we only ever press small lots of one oil, bottle it immediately and then send it to our customers – simply fresh from the mill.

Quality
We only produce cold pressed, virgin organic oils. In our spindle presses, the oil is extracted using mechanical pressure
and no heat; the temperature stays between 35 and 55°C during the process. Afterwards the oil is carefully fi ltered. Chemical or aggressive procedures such as de-acidifying, bleaching or deodorizing are simply out of the question for us.

Organic
What use would the most careful production methods be, if the raw materials were already genetically contaminated, polluted with residue from pesticides and herbicides, or doped with artifi cial fertilizer? For this reason, we only use organic raw materials which have at least been certified according to EU Organic Legislation or Naturland. They do not only provide the best fl avour and impressive quality but also ensure that in the future agriculture can be conducted in a beneficial way and achieve a high crop yield here and all over the world – a matter of particular concern to Gudrun and Werner Baensch owing to their work in Asia and South America.
