Since more than 100 years, the Zandonella family is producing ice cream according to family owned recipies. Until 2011 ice cream was maily manufactured for own and other ice cream parlours in stainless steal containers.
In April 2010 the production plant was firstly certified by ABCert due to Bio-Guidelines.
Up from 2011 Zandonella started to produce ready-for-use familiy packs for organic ice cream amongst others for private label customers.
In May 2013 the existing shareholders Sandro Zandonella and Klaus Nohr and the new general manager Werner Oelschlaeger founded Zandonella GmbH, which continues the ice cream business with a new brand and a focus on organic ice cream.
The main goal is to establish the excellent ice cream with many island positions in the market for organic and natural foods and to enhance the regfrigerated areas. Therefore in 2014 "Sandro's Bio" was launched and replaces the predecessor brand "Palazzo Sandro". It is not only the taste and the quality of the ice cream, which was confirmed in many blind auditions, but also the sales promotion, which we would like to contour in a personal exchange. In 2015 Sandro's Bio comes in 3 new tastes: Hazelnut VEGAN, Coconut VEGAN and Pina Colada with Alcohol.
Furthermore "Sandro's Bio" is worldwide the first ice cream brand, who offers its ice cream in a BioFoam packaging manufactured by Synprodo. Visually, BioFoam reminds of EPS, but will be produced of not genetically modified sugar cane and is industrially compostable. This ecological advantage is accompanied with pros in the freezing logistic services and customer convenience. therefore we received the Bioplastics Award 2014 and were nominated to "Deutscher Verpackungspreis".
