A family know-how which has its origins in Nimes land
In three generations, Huilerie Cauvin has undergone a true metamorphosis. The modest mill of family to the company to the international reputation it has become, history of a passion.
1951: It all starts in Nîmes, where Gilbert Cauvin resumes activity of Savior Chauvet, Cooper by trade, who in 1930 began the confectionery of olives before engaging in the production of cooking oil to the recognized qualities.
1956: The big freeze of winter compromises the harvest and sign the warrant of the mill. Gilbert Cauvin, son-in-law of the founder, ensures production from crops of other local Millers. It's the advent of the first taster of elite! Curious and innovative, he travels the territory to looking for the most noble products.
1970: The oil mill turns to the development and trading of other oil it sells with a professional clientele (food industry, cosmetics...).
1985: Gérard Cauvin, current co-manager, took the reins of the company. Introduced since childhood to the ritual of tasting, it explores the Mediterranean looking for quality products at unusual taste.
2004: Serge Filhol, the current leader, bought the company and opens the carrier oil to the general public by offering ever more tasty and atypical products in retail. Each year, the oil mill gardoise developing of new gourmet oils thanks to the talent of its tasters of elite.
2017: Carrier invests a new production Gard site to perpetuate and develop its taster of elite culture. This change is also intended to satisfy consumers and business customers (the food, cosmetic, industry.. MDD) thanks to more efficient processes, more responsible, in the process of the IFS certification (guarantee on the safety and quality of food products).
The mill offers a range of products with up to forty different consumable with diverse flavors. Its organic range contains unpublished aromas while its premium 'Sélection' olive oil has been awarded Gault and Millau for its organoleptic qualities.
