PROBIO was established in 1992 as a family business with only three employees.
We started business in the field of organic farming and organic food in time when almost no one in the Czech Republic knew them. We are placed in a beautiful clear countryside in Staré Město, where we have reconstructed old brownfields to our new mills, warehouses, packaging and administrative buildings.
Over 4,000 tons of organic flour is produced annually in our organic mills. We focus mainly on well-known and also forgotten cereals and process them into flour, semolina and groats.
We consider organic food as the basis of the human diet. Our products are suitable for people with different dietary restrictions and specifics, also vegetarians, vegans, athletes and people with a lactose or gluten-free diet can choose from wide range of our assortment. Over 400 gluten-free organic products come from our gluten-free organic-mill. We specialised on products from buckwheat, sorghum, lentils, peas and chickpeas.Thanks to separate production, packaging, storage and our laboratory, these products meet demanding hygiene limits and can be enjoyed by people with celiac disease.
The theme of zero waste is very important to us in relation to the environment. That is why we also offer our organic food in large packages and replaceable buckets, which use zero waste shops.
Connection with nature
We consider our planet with its resources the most valuable thing we have here and what we should care for with gratitude and love. Our business contributes to the maintenance of life in the soil, protecting water, field animals and natural diversity in the surrounding landscape. Our goal is to give people healthy food, which is produced in pure nature and thus to take care of human health.
Spelt has been with us since the beginning of our business. Spelt products are still among the most popular. It is carefully produced in our organic mill into different kinds of flour. You can also find it in our offer as pasta, flakes, biscuits, bread sticks or alternative coffee.
We built a special gluten-free organic mill for our buckwheat in 2014 to ensure it is gluten-free. We peel it in mechanic way without unnecessary heating; therefore it has a light color, retains valuable nutrients and is also suitable for lovers of RAW food. You will find it in the form of flour, groats, flakes and pancake or gingerbread mixture.
We are pleased to offer you forgotten cereals (wild) such as emmer, einkorn wheat or red wheat. These original grains have been accompanying people since the Neolithic period. These crops have retained their wild and healing character, unique taste, excellent digestibility and plenty of nutrients. We perceive them as a valuable heritage of our ancestors. Because of their rich nutritional composition we call them superfood. We grow them on our own organic farm. We are part of an international project for their research and we offer them in the form of grain, flour, flakes or sticks.
