Dried tomatoes are produced from round, whole, ripe, red fresh tomatoes, which are selected, washed with water, halved, salted or sulphated (according to customer request), then sun dried under controlled conditions; as known sun drying is one of the oldest process tradition for many different items. Dried tomatoes are packed and stored in our cold warehouses at +4 / +7 o C for uniform red colour retention and microbiological protection. This also helps us to have available product year – round with a consistent quality. Flavour of reconstituted product is characteristic of fresh tomato without off taste.
We are able to process sun dried tomatoes as Halves, Julienne strips and Diced. Besides this our ready to eat/pasteurised or marinated sun dried tomatoes save time and need no further processing. We are able to adjust the cuts, content, colour and the packaging according to the customer requirements.
Traditionally all sun-dried tomatoes are packed in different sized vacuum packs in order to maintain the freshness of the product.
Additionally, in accordance to our Ready to eat / Pausterisation line, we are also able to process and pack in different packaging formats high moisture sun dried tomatoes without any preservative.
The sun-dried tomatoes are an excellent topping for the pizzas and also can be added in the soups, casseroles, dips and tomato based dishes. They add flavour and colour to all your recipes.
