Andean Sol is a new, authentic and exciting superfood brand which sources great tasting and organic products from the Andean region of South America – a wild and remote expanse of diverse cultures and landscapes.
From the sun-baked foothills and windswept Altiplano to the peaks of Patagonia, the region offers an abundance of unique and wholesome foods.
Andean Sol only supplies foods that we produce ourselves or that we source directly from local farmers and cooperatives. This ensures traceability and the highest quality product at all times.
Who we are
Andean Sol is the creation of two founders from two very different parts of the world: Tom from California and Cristian from Argentina. We were both working together in London in finance jobs that had nothing at all to do with food. In fact, if you told us years ago that we would one day be working with things like chia and quinoa, we would have had a good laugh. One day both of our jobs shall we say “disappeared” and we had a bit of time on our hands. Being from California where many superfood trends tend to start, Tom had seen many products that had not yet made their way across the pond to the UK and Europe. By happy coincidence Cristian had many connections with producers and farmers in South America where many of these superfoods grow.
Together we saw an opportunity that was too good to pass up. Over the past few years we have worked in sourcing and supplying these foods in bulk as ingredients to other businesses. With the creation of our Andean Sol retail brand, we aim to cut out the middle man and bring these foods directly to you.
Our mission is to share with you healthy and wholesome foods grown in a very special land that we both love – the Andean region of South America.
The Andes mountain range is the longest in the world and one of the highest, stretching over 7,000km from Venezuela in the north all the way to down to Tierra del Fuego in the south. It truly is a land of contrasts with towering snowy peaks in Patagonia down to the sun-baked foothills of Argentina, over to the wind swept Altiplano of Bolivia.
Our goal is to show you the lands where these foods come from, the stories and pictures of the region and people who work in the fields and who help to produce these foods, and finally the journey these foods take to get from the farms in South America to your table.
