ICEA operates in the Mediterranean area, Eastern Europe, Latin America, India and Africa. It acts directly or through partners and its control of organic products enjoys government acknowledgment in several countries. It has developed the certification schemes, and acquired the specific accreditation that can benefit the companies seeking to reach far-away markets and export their own organic products: China (OFDC - member of International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements - IFOAM), USA (National Organic Program - NOP), Canada (Canada Organic Regime – COR) and Japan (Japanese Agricultural Standard - JAS).
ICEA meets the requirements of International partners and stakeholders with growing participation in technical assistance, training and certification projects. It fosters organic agriculture practices – also in the Fair Trade sector – as an effective tool for International Development Cooperation. ICEA approach is based on both support to small rural producers (also through collective certification) and organic products and Fair Trade convergence, as well as on the development of suitable control tools and local certifications.
