The company KAOKA was formed in 1993, under the direction of André DEBERDT, a specialist in the development of organic farming programmes throughout the world.
Long term commitment, close partnership with cocoa producers and a strategy of sustainable development are the 3 main foundations of the process, which involves:
Respect for the environment and its bio-diversity,
Respect for human dignity by ensuring producers receive fair recompense for themselves and their families and commitment to quality, vital for stability and future success.
Very simply, eating KAOKA chocolate is a pleasure for both body and soul… It is our reason for being.
This is why we undertake to have an active presence with cocoa producers on every continent. The genuine transfer of skills brought by KAOKA enables small producers to form strong, efficient and well managed cooperatives; a necessary pre-condition to succeed in every action.
For KAOKA, the wish to work towards a sustainable relationship encompassing economic and social benefits is in keeping with the nature of organic farm production, the historical heartland of its total approach. Its real commitment to continuous technical and financial support and to a policy of guaranteed minimum price provides cocoa producers with growth and hope for a better future.
Today, nearly 3000 cocoa producers and their families are KAOKA partners and have been so for some time. This follows the aspirations of André DEBERDT.
